DJMA Architects Limited are specialists in one-off houses, bespoke commercial developments, and listed buildings. Led by accredited conservation architect, Daniel Metcalfe, we work across the south west in a variety of sectors, delivering low carbon, design-led buildings for discerning clients. 

Daniel is an RIBA Architect with over 20 years’ experience. As director, he is the driving force behind the practice. Following his training at Bath University, he has worked throughout the South West and London on a variety of major projects including the £30m restoration of the iconic 1970’s Brunswick Centre in Camden. Daniel led design teams at local firm BBH, where he was responsible for several award winning private house projects, before setting up in private practice. He specialises in design led one-off houses and the adaptive reuse of historic buildings, and is accredited to work on all grades of listed buildings and monuments. In his spare time, he advises the Torbay Design Review Panel on conservation matters and offers unpaid heritage advice to local charities including Trusham Church, Chudleigh Youth Centre and the Kingskerswell Manor House Trust. Daniel’s guiding philosophy in all design is the creation of exemplar buildings through understanding the site and the client, which remain resolutely at the centre of all he does.
